The Power House, Yorkshire

The Power House is a massive holiday lodge in Skinningrove, North Yorkshire that sleeps up to 17 people. This converted Victorian power station offers space for multiple families or large groups with its six bedrooms and five bathrooms. Just 800 yards from a gorgeous beach, it's perfect for those wanting coastal walks without the tourist crowds.

Skinningrove sits on a stunning stretch of the North Yorkshire coastline. The Cleveland Way runs right past, offering spectacular cliff-top walks. The beach is practically private compared to busier spots like Whitby or Saltburn - both short drives away. The North York Moors National Park is also nearby for those wanting to explore inland landscapes. Perfect for groups who want to argue about which walk to do before not doing any of them.

Accommodation includes a four-poster king-size bedroom with en-suite, two king-size rooms (one with en-suite), a twin room with stacker bed and a family room with mezzanine level. There are two sitting rooms - one with ramped access and sofa bed, two kitchens with double ovens and a large dining space where everyone can eat together without killing each other.

Nearby attractions include Whitby (20 miles, 35 minutes) with its abbey and Dracula connections, Saltburn (5 miles, 15 minutes) with its Victorian pier and cliff lift, Staithes (8 miles, 20 minutes) with its artistic heritage and Runswick Bay (10 miles, 25 minutes) with its sheltered sandy beach.
