The Royal Hotel pub is literally a minute's walk away - close enough to crawl back after a few too many Yorkshire ales. The beach is nearby but be warned: it's a steep walk back up (great for burning off those pub meals). Staithes is just 2.5 miles away if you fancy exploring another picture-perfect coastal village.

The accommodation features an open-plan living area with kitchen, dining space and sitting area with electric fire. There's a king-size bedroom with en-suite basin and WC, plus a twin bedroom. Visit Whitby (15 minutes by car) with its famous Abbey, quirky shops and fish and chips. Explore Robin Hood's Bay (20 minutes) with its smugglers' alleys and beach. Saltburn-by-the-Sea (25 minutes) offers a Victorian pier and cliff lift. Don't miss Sandsend (10 minutes) with its long sandy beach and excellent cafés.
